CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Eight people, including three children, were injured in a two car crash on the city's Far South Side Monday evening.
The cars crashed just before 10 p.m. at 136th and Indiana in Riverdale.
A Pontiac Grand Am carrying three people was traveling at a high rate of speed, and clipped a Chevy TrailBlazer with five people in it near the intersection of 136th Street and Indiana Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
The impact sent the Grand Am into the front porch of a nearby home.
Three men – two 20-year-old and one 24 year-old – from the Grand Am were taken to area hospitals in serious-to-critical condition, one to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, one to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and one to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police and Fire Media Affairs.
Five people inside the TrailBlazer were injured – including a 29-year-old man and woman, a 9-year-old boy, a 3-year-old girl and a one-month old boy, police said.
An adult and a child in fair-to-serious condition, as well as an adult and two children in good condition were all taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, Fire Media Affairs said.
All of the victims are expected to recover.
The house appears to still be structurally sound, Alfaro said.
