An effort to rescue 10 baby ducks is underway in Wheaton.

Neighbors near County Farm and Roosevelt Road in Wheaton are trying to rescue the ducks from a sewer.

The ducks' mother, and one other baby duck, are above the sewer, quacking for the others who are trapped.

Neighbors say they asked Wheaton's sewer department to come out to rescue the ducks, but officials say they can't authorize the overtime pay, and the ducks are trapped on private property.

So the neighbors are pitching in to get a private work crew to remove the manhole cover that has trapped the ducks.
