Robert Blagojevich writing book: 'How I Survived Federal Justice System'

CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's brother Robert says he's writing a book on his three-year legal saga that ended when federal prosecutors dropped all charges against him.

Robert Blagojevich told The Associated Press on Friday that his working title is, "How I Survived the Federal Justice System." He hopes to finish the book by year's end.

A jury at Rod Blagojevich's retrial convicted the ex-governor of trying to sell or trade President Barack Obama's old Senate seat and he began serving a 14-year prison term in March.

But the U.S. Attorney's office dropped all charges against Robert after the first trial ended in a hung jury. A military officer-turned-businessman, jurors said later that Robert Blagojevich cut a more sympathetic figure than his big-talking brother.

Robert Blagojevich still insists his brother is innocent.
