Street closures have begun in preparation for the Taste of Chicago. They will be in effect until 4 p.m. July 16.
Columbus will be closed from Balbo to Monroe; Jackson is closed from Michigan to Lake Shore Drive; and Congress is shut down from Michigan to Columbus.
The Taste of Chicago starts next Wednesday and runs through July 15. Clean-up should conclude July 16.
This year marks the first time that organizers are charging for seats at Taste concerts, but not many people seem to be buying.
The city said that only one third of available tickets have been sold.
Still, organizers said they're hopeful that sales will pick up when people decide whether or not they'll actually attend the festival.
