Firefighters battled two Humboldt Park fire in extreme heat

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The triple digit temperatures make fighting fires rough.

Chicago firefighters battled two fires in the Humboldt Park neighborhood Wednesday.

One was a two-alarm fire at a building at Hamlin and LeMoyne Street. The other broke out on the second floor of a building at Chicago and St. Louis Avenue.

No one was hurt in either fire. But there is no word yet on the cause of either of them.

Another challenge for Chicago firefighters is water pressure, or lack of it. In some neighborhoods, people have been opening fire hydrants to play in the cool water, but that lowers water pressure and makes it hard to put a fire out.
