Arlington Heights celebrates Independence Day

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

When Arlington Heights had its first Fourth of July parade, Gerald Ford was in the White House, the Vietnam War was consuming our lives and a gallon of gas was $1.50.

All these years later, much has changed. But not the parade now known as Frontier Days!

It's a well-loved tradition for Arlington Heights families to line the streets for the Independence Day celebration.

It's a chance for them to take a break for the daily grind and remember what makes them so proud to be American.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
