A teenager was wounded in a drive-by shooting Sunday night not far from the lakefront in the North Side Uptown neighborhood.

A 16-year-old boy was walking in the 4500 block of North Clarendon Avenue when shots were fired from a green sport-utility vehicle about 11:37 p.m., according to a release from police News Affairs.

The SUV fled north to Wilson Avenue and then south on Lake Shore Drive, the statement said.

The teen was taken to the nearby Weiss Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in "stable" condition, the statement said.

Police have made no arrests as Area North detectives continue to investigate the shooting. It remained unclear what motivated the shooting, police said.
