The family of a 17-year-old girl killed two years ago after the car she was riding in was struck by a Domino's Pizza delivery driver has agreed to a $2 million settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit.
Amanda Gilhooly was driving the vehicle that Danielle Sellers was inside when a vehicle driven by Ellis Reynolds struck Gilhooly's car at the intersection of 100th Street and Turner Avenue in Evergreen Park on May 6, 2010, according to a release from the victim's lawyer, Michael K. Demetrio.
The intersection did not have stop signs, the release said. Reynolds had the right of way but Gilhooly failed to yield, according to the release. Stop signs were erected shortly after the crash.
Domino's agreed to pay the full amount of its $2 million insurance policy and Gilhooly paid the full $50,000 limit of her policy, the release said.
