July 2: Dangerous heat wave this week

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Extreme heat is expected for the week ahead.

Temperatures in the Chicago area should reach the mid to upper 90s with heat indices between 100 and 110.

Isolated storms are expected this week, but they will do very little to help our drought situation.

Pace yourselves this week the cumulative effect of heat can wear you down quickly.

Spend time indoors, special care for pets, hydrate with non-alcoholic fluids, limit exercise and never leave children or pets in a car even for a moment since the temperature inside a car can reach 150-200 degrees in minutes.
