Police are looking for a man who tried to get a 9-year-old girl to get into his pickup Monday afternoon in an unincorporated area near northwest suburban Sugar Grove.
A man in a pickup truck told the girl, who was skateboarding in the Prestbury subdivision in Sugar Grove Township, to get into the vehicle about 4:50 p.m. Monday, according to the Kane County Sheriff's office.
The girl went home and told her parents, who called police. Responding deputies searched the area but could not find the vehicle or driver.
The vehicle is described as a mid-sized white pickup with a silver tool box in the bed. It had black letters on the side and tailgate, and an Illinois license plate with the last letter being an "S."
