Chicago may hit triple digits Thursday. The record that day is 101 set in 1971.

- Chicago has only hit 100 degrees 61 times since records started in 1887.
- Last 100-degree day in Chicago was July 24, 2005 102 degrees.
- Prior to that we hit 101 in July of 1999, 104 in 1995, 101 in 1991.
- A 100-degree day in Chicago only happens once every few years.
- In 1988 we had seven 100 degree days.
- June has only had 13 100-degree days since 1871. (July 33 days, August 11 days, September 4 days).
- The hottest June day on record was 104 on June 20, 1988.
- Our all-time record high in Chicago is 105 on July 24, 1934.
