Beyonce and Kim Kardashian get a little closer: Zwecker

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Forget those published reports about Beyonce and husband Jay-Z banning Kim Kardashian from anything in which they are involved - Beyonce made a nice public move to dispute those false tales.

She sat with the reality TV star at Jay-Z and Kayne West's "Watch the Throne" concert in Birmingham, England the other night.

I've also learned Beyonce actually is a big admirer of Kardashian's savvy skills at mega-marketing herself and her brand.

"Our Town's" Jennifer Hudson already owns an Oscar and a Grammy. Could an Emmy be next?

The singer and actress will have a multi-episode guest-starring role on NBC's "Smash," beginning with the debut of the series' second season this fall, playing a Tony-winner having an impact on the characters portrayed by Hudson's fellow "American Idol" alum Katherine McPhee and Megan Hilty.

Apparently when John Edwards' daughter Cate Edwards Upham heard about her dad's lover Rielle Hunter's desire to host a talk show about relationships, Upham went ballistic.

"The woman has no shame," an associate of the ex-presidential candidate's daughter said, with a lot of anger in her voice.

Upham has to be happy that all the intense publicity for Hunter's book hasn't resulted in great sales. Excerpts have been published in People, Chris Cuomo's "20/20" interview, and more.

As they went to press, "What Really Happened" was only No. 122 on Amazon's list of books sold.

Pixar's "Brave" won at the box office this weekend. This is the 13th straight hit for Pixar - more proof that there's a strong demand for family-oriented films this summer - as usual.

Plus, "Brave" gives us a nice, strong action heroine for young girls to relate to.
