$10k reward for information in attack on off-duty cop

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the conviction of whoever shot a Chicago Police officer as he sat on his back porch in the Far South Side Longwood Manor neighborhood this month.
The off-duty officer was shot in both legs about 1:30 a.m. June 15 in the 9700 block of South Genoa Avenue and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The 38-year-old officer, who is a 10-year police veteran, was on the rear porch of a home when he heard gunshots and felt pain in both legs, according to a police statement.
The officer was with a fellow officer at the time, according to reports, and it remains unclear if they were targeted in the incident.
Fraternal Order of Police spokesman Pat Camden said the officer was transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Friday, police and CAPS announced the $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter, money donated by outside sources, police said.
