'Brave' another hit for Disney and Pixar: Zwecker

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Disney Pixar's newest animated film "Brave" hits movie theatres Friday.

When it comes to the animated films Pixar does for Disney, it's usually a safe bet you're in for solid family entertainment and with "Brave" you will not be disappointed.

Set in Scotland during the Middle Ages, young Princess Merida is clearly a young lady centuries before her time. A strong-willed, independent thinker who is not only a whiz with a bow and arrow but also reluctant to become another young pawn destined to marry to ensure the future of her dynasty.

There's lots of adventure and it's nice for young girls to have an action heroine to identify with.

Yet boys will like this as well, given the non-stop action and strong energy and humor from start to finish.

This is yet another Pixar winner.

Now, speaking of archery, I recently went to the Lincoln Park Archery Club on the lakefront to test my skills with a bow and arrow against the "Brave" directors and producer.
