$250K bond for man accused of hitting walkers while drunk

A Southwest Side man charged with three counts of DUI for allegedly striking three pedestrians crossing a Humboldt Park street was ordered held on $250,000 bond Tuesday.
Abel Vicente, 19, of the 900 block of South Mayfield Avenue, was charged Monday with three counts of aggravated DUI, police said.
On Tuesday, Cook County Circuit Court Judge Israel Desierto ordered Vicente held on $250,000 bond, said Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin.
Vicente is accused of driving a vehicle that struck three people in an Sunday night hit-and-run in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
A Nissan Sentra traveling north on Humboldt Boulevard struck three females -- ages 15, 17 and 19 -- about 10:45 p.m. Sunday at North Avenue, police said.
The 17-year-old was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital with head injuries, police said. The 15- and 19-year-olds were taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital -- the 15-year-old with a broken pelvis and the 19-year-old with a head injury.
Vicente initially fled in the vehicle before hitting a center median, at which he point he stopped, got out of the vehicle and ran away on foot, police said. He was taken to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in "stable" condition.
