A semi truck fatally struck a man on the Dan Ryan Expressway on Tuesday morning, Illinois State Police said.
40-year-old Gabriel O. Ohikuare had stopped his 2000 Ford Crown Victoria in the northbound right shoulder of the Dan Ryan Expressway near 83rd Street, when he got out for an unknown reason.
About 9:40 a.m., a 42-year-old Cicero man driving a 1999 Volvo truck tractor semi-trailer driving in the right lane fatally struck him, the release said. Ohikuare, of the 5400 block of North Kenmore Avenue, was dead at the scene.
The other driver was not hurt and no charges have been filed as of Tuesday night, the release said.
