Preckwinkle pledges to increase funding for summer jobs program

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Good news for summer job seekers in Cook County.

County President Toni Preckwinkle announced an increase in funding for a jobs program for at-risk youth.

The county will now kick in $265,000 to the "One Summer Plus" program.

The program will provide job opportunities for 700 kids at 13 Chicago schools with a high risk of violence.

Preckwinkle says the money will be well spent to keep more children out of harm's way.
