Little Village residents threatening suit against People's Gas

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Little Village residents are threatening a class-action lawsuit against People's Gas.

The neighbors say earlier this year, crews from People's Gas tore up their lawns and sidewalks during installation of gas meters, for the city of Chicago, and never repaired the damage.

Raul Montes Jr., a resident of Little Village, says residents have made "numerous attempts" to contact People's Gas but haven't received a response.

Montes said representatives from People's Gas "promised" that the company would clean up the mess but the company never did.

"There's no response to our pleas right now. We've spoken to supervisors and they said they were responsible for it but they haven't taken any action," Montes said.

Montes says he's contacted an attorney and plans to file a class-action lawsuit if People's Gas doesn't take action to repair the damages.
