CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
The Secret Service prepares for President Obama's arrival with his family later Friday evening, to attend the wedding of senior adviser Valerie Jarrett's daughter, Laura.
There's a tremendous amount of activity going on in the Kenwood neighborhood to prepare for the wedding, and neighbors are very excited to see just how much of the event they'll be privileged to.
The president arrives at 7 p.m. Friday, and will stay in Chicago for three days.
One of those days will be dedicated to celebrating the marriage of Harvard Law grads Laura Jarrett and Tony Balkissoon. The school is also the alma mater of both President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
The events will take place at Valerie Jarrett's mother's house, where tents had already gone up and preparations begun Friday afternoon.
The guest list will be a who's who of the Chicago elite. Although neighbors are not on that list, they anticipate a great party and hope to catch a glimpse of the festivities.
Michael Sneed of the Chicago Sun-Times reported the Chicago Police Dept. may supply 100-200 officers to secure the perimeter near 49th and Greenwood.
It should be an event to remember. The Obama family will leave town around 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
