New study says our shoes are indicative of our personalities

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The boots are made for walkin' -- and these heels are made for bragging, and these loafers are made for republicans.

We hit the pavement for Thursday's talker and what shoes tell us about personality.

Researchers at the University of Kansas say you can tell almost anything about a person's personality just by looking at their shoes. According to the study, 90 percent of your personality is on your feet.

People in the study looked at shoes, and were able to accurately guess things from age and gender to income, political affiliation, and even whether the person wearing the shoes had anxiety.

We took the shoe question to the street tonight -- and yes -- many of you tell us there are clues in the shoes.

How about dating? Would you be turned off by someone who didn't put their best "foot" forward?

Chicago relationship columnist Gina "B" says it's not so much about what shoes they wear, but how they wear them.

"I always look at the shoes. You want to see if they are clean and taken care of, because if a guy will take care of his shoes, it's a good sign he'll also take care of you," Gina said. "And it's a must that the shoes match his clothes."
