Taste of Randolph, History Hustle top your Father's Day weekend: Time Out Chicago

If you still don't know how you're going to spend your Father's Day weekend, fear not. Time Out Chicago's Marissa Conrad has a list of the perfect events that both you and Dad will enjoy. From the vast array of food selections at the Taste of Randolph Street to the athletic History Hustle 5K she has something for everyone.
Kick start your Friday by treating yourself to the varied cuisines of The Taste of Randolph Street. This street fair runs from Friday to Sunday and allows you sample dishes from some of Chicago's hottest restaurants including ING, Publican Quality Meats, Vivo, Le Sardine and many more. Be sure to check out the dozens artisan booths covering the 6 block festival and stick around to listen to the tunes of David Vanderveld starting at 6pm and Ezra Furman at 8:30pm among the various other bands being featured. 900–1200 W Randolph St (tasterandolph.com). If you're feeling guilty after over indulging at Taste of Randolph Street join the Chicago History Museum in their History Hustle 5K. Starting at 9:30am, test your physical stamina as a docent doles out historical facts about the Gold Coast and Old Town neighborhoods. Various Chicago Park District locations; see website (312-742-1134, chicagoparkdistrict.com).
On Saturday night relax with the Chicago Park District's presentation of Movies in the Park. You can reconnect with your inner youth at a screening of The Sandlot beginning at dusk in Oz Park. The Chicago Park District is presenting neighborhood outdoor movies all summer, more than 100 local parks get their own big screen for a night or two. You can wrap up your weekend and enjoy some quality time with Dad by taking a visit to the Chicago Botanic Garden and embarking on the Father's Day Canoe Adventure. Saturday and Sunday Friends of the Chicago River and the Chicago Botanic Garden are teaming up to bring dads and their kids a Father's Day full of paddling, summer vistas, frogs, herons, turtles, and more. This adventure does not discriminate based on skill level and comes with instructions, canoes, life jackets, and paddles.
