A 17-year-old Chicago girl was arrested Monday after she allegedly fled police and damaged 11 vehicles, including a squad car, in west suburban Elmwood Park.
The chase began at 7:34 a.m. on 2300 block of 73rd Court at Belden Avenue, Pioneer Press is reporting.
Elmwood Park Police Chief Frank Fagiano said the girl, driving southbound on 73rd Court in a white 1998 GM Sierra pickup, made a right onto Belden and hit a vehicle, which alerted a nearby police officer.
The officer pursued the truck to the 2300 block 74th Avenue, where it allegedly hit several parked cars on both sides of street.
Another police car pulled up in the area of Palmer Avenue, blocking the street to prevent her from driving further, but she reversed, hitting the police car behind her.
"She reverses into a car and the squad car twice," Fagiano said.
As a result of the numerous impacts to her truck, the airbag deployed and police were able to take her into custody without incident. Nobody was injured.
The girl was charged with three Class 4 felonies — aggravated fleeing, aggravated DUI with no valid driver's license, aggravated DUI with no valid insurance — and 22 vehicle code violations.
She was expected to appear in court Wednesday.
