CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A Plainfield man is facing jail time for taking a business trip when he was supposed to be sitting on a jury.

Scott Enke left town during the middle of a medical fraud trial in March for business.

The chief judge of the U.S. District Court in Chicago said Enke could face up to three days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.

The judge is withholding a sentence until he learns more about the man's character.

Enke's lawyer said his client doesn't disrespect the law - but thought that he didn't have to stay.
