Pregnant girl, 17, seriously wounded in Marquette Park shooting

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A pregnant teenage girl was seriously wounded in a shooting in the Southwest Side Marquette Park neighborhood Monday night.
The girl, 17, was inside a home in the 7000 block of South Maplewood Avenue at 9:11 p.m. when she was hit by gunfire, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.
She was shot in the shoulder and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, Gaines said.
The girl was pregnant, but her unborn child was unharmed, police said.
No one is in custody Monday night, and Area Central detectives are investigating.
