CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
A Sugar Grove man has been arrested and charged with possessing child pornography.
Dennis Houston, 43, of the 3S500 block of Bliss Road in Sugar Grove, was arrested last week in his home. FBI agents found about 1,300 child pornography images and video files on his laptop computer.
Back in February, Houston allegedly began an online chat session looking for the porn on Feb. 29. But the person he was chatting with was an undercover agent in Maryland.
According to a criminal complaint, the agent made contact with a person who was sharing two password-protected file folders on a peer-to-peer file sharing network.
The agent began online chatting with the person, who provided the agent with the password to the two folders, the complaint said. The agent used the password to download 20 image files and one video file from the shared folders that contained child pornography.
An investigation determined Houston was the person who used the IPO to provide the password and the shared files, the complaint said. The 1,300 files included at least four of the image and video files previously downloaded by the undercover agent.
Houston is being held without bond at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago. He'll appear in court Tuesday. If convicted, Houston faces between five and 20 years in prison.
