CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two males and a female were killed when a semi truck slammed into a vehicle Monday afternoon in an unincorporated part of Kendall County, State Police said.

A semi truck traveling east on Illinois Route 126 slammed into a Toyota passenger vehicle at Schlapp Road in unincorporated Kendall County about 3:15 p.m., Illinois State Police Joliet District Master Sgt. Bill Fuentes said.

A teenage boy driving the Toyota and two passengers, a male and female, were killed in the crash, Fuentes said. The males were dead on the scene and the female was pronounced dead at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

The man driving the truck was taken to the Aurora hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the master sergeant said.

The crash happened about seven miles south of Oswego and seven miles west of Plainfield.

Fuentes said the Toyota was traveling south on Schlapp Road and either failed to stop or failed to yield.

The truck, which was carrying bags of silicon sand, overturned and State Police expected Route 126 to be closed into Monday night
