'Snow White and the Huntsman' is a solid piece of entertainment - FOX 32 News Chicago

'Snow White and the Huntsman' is solid entertainment, 'High School' is just stupid

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

This weekend you can go back to "High School," or check out the second "Snow White" movie that's been released this year.

Unlike the pretty lame "Mirror, Mirror" starring Julia Roberts, "Snow White and the Huntsman" is a solid piece of entertainment - a much darker, but more enjoyable interpretation of the classic fairy tale.

In the title role, Kristen Stewart does a decent job as Snow White. But her acting did remind me a bit too much of her Bella in the "Twilight" saga.

On the other hand, Charlize Theron is deliciously evil as the wicked queen, obsessed with killing Snow White as she did her husband when she seized control of the kingdom.

Chris Hemsworth further secures his role as a terrific action star as he plays the noble huntsman

While overly long at more than two hours, "Snow White and the Huntsman" is visually stunning. I recommend "Snow White."

But on the other hand you can completely forget "High School." It's the worst stoner flick I've seen - maybe ever!

The story line is silly and simplistic with the school's about-to-be-named valedictorian getting stoned, and about to be zapped by the school's just-announced zero-tolerance drug testing policy.

What bugged me the most was seeing Oscar winner Adrien Brody starring in a terrible film, yet again.

This time he plays a law student-turned-drug dealer where the kids snag the ganja to spike the brownies at the high school bake sale.

Get my point? This movie is really stupid!
