Police are asking for the public's help finding a man with dementia who went missing Monday on the Northwest Side.

Taurina "Jim" Gerolamo, 65, went missing Monday from the 5400 block of North Pittsburgh Avenue, according to a missing person alert from Area North detectives. He was en route to the 5600 block of North Canfield Avenue but never arrived.

Gerolamo suffers from dementia but has identification with him, the alert said. He likes to walk through parks and forest preserves.

He is described as a 5-feet-9, 170-pound white man with a medium complexion, gray hair and brown eyes, police said. He was last seen wearing a light blue polo shirt, jeans and brown sandals.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8266.
