Highest, earliest temperature sends Chicagoans to the beach

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago reached its highest, earliest temperature ever Sunday, and the proof was on the beaches. The city expects another packed day along the lakefront.

Chicago had never seen a high at 97 or higher, as early as May 27 – until Sunday.

Unfortunately, the water has not quite caught up to the heat, and that made folks a little skittish about getting into the cold water. But those who did said it was a refreshing break from the hot and humid day.

The beach was busy on Sunday, and so were the police. They report having several disturbances at North Avenue Beach.
