CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Chicago is finally looking like it's a regular city again on post-NATO Tuesday. No more rolling road closures, beefed up police presence or those protesters.
Protesters marched through streets downtown until the bitter end Monday night. Police blocked northbound bridges across the Chicago River at around 9 p.m.
They even considered raising them to keep protesters from vandalizing businesses in the Gold Coast. But both the police and protesters stayed peaceful.
The crowd was mostly broken up within an hour.
Love them or hate them, NATO protesters are on their way home. Buses filled with hundreds of Occupy protesters took off near Belmont Harbor Monday night.
They're headed home to cities all across the country.
