Two Chicago men are accused of stealing $39,000 worth of cigarettes from an Elmhurst store while dressed as police officers.

Police say Claiborne Robertson and Charles Watkins went into the Little Shopper Store on York Road and claimed to be inspectors looking for cigarette stamps.

Robertson and Watkins then allegedly handcuffed an employee and took off with 780 cartons of cigarettes.

They were arrested after a police chase, and charged with robbery.

Both were taken to the Du Page County Jail.
