Boy, 14, shot in on Southwest Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized Tuesday night after he was shot in the ankle in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The boy, 14, was shot about 8:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of West 65th Street, according to police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines.

He was taken with a gunshot wound to the ankle to an unidentified area hospital, where he was treated and released, according to Gaines, who did not have further details.

No one was in custody early Wednesday.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
