Four protesters have been arrested after a demonstration outside a downtown Chicago building that houses a federal immigration court.
Dozens picketed Tuesday, one of many protests planned in the days leading up to the NATO summit. The gathering of heads of state begins this weekend.
Two immigrant rights activists were placed in handcuffs after refusing to move away from the building entrance. Minutes later Occupy Chicago protesters tried to block traffic. At least two more people were cuffed.
Chicago police didn't immediately have more details.
In recent days, police have had a more visible presence downtown. A police videographer was also at Tuesday's demonstration.
Chicago police spokeswoman Melissa Stratton says officers from three out-of-state departments will come to Chicago to help with NATO protests. Those include Philadelphia and Milwaukee.
