8 protesters arrested for storming Obama headquarters

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Eight demonstrators, six men and two women, were arrested for storming private property as 100 protesters took a stand in front of Obama headquarters.

FOX Chicago News was told the group of Catholic demonstrators asked world leaders to end the war in Afghanistan. Protestor Larry O'Toole said the message is simple: begin the process to peace.

O'Toole said his fellow demonstrators just wanted to "bring the leaders in the building breakfast," so that they could begin a dialogue about ending American occupation in Afghanistan a lot sooner than the planned 12-year process.

He said the group wants to stop civilian casualties, and stop the damage occupation is doing to the Afghan communities.

While they are protesting the war, O'Toole also said the group is acting in solidarity with American soldiers, wanting them to come home.

The Chicago Tribune reports the gathering was a kick off to a week without capitalism involving quote "non-violent resistance to the corporate NATO agenda."
