A man was beaten to death after two suspects bound him and two women and ransacked his Northwest Side home.
The two men had apparently been invited into the apartment in the 4500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, and did not force their way inside, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
While inside the apartment, at 1:22 a.m., they bound the 43-year-old man and two women, police said. They then began to beat up the man.
Marek Kaczmarczyk, of the 4500 block of Milwaukee Avenue was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
They ransacked the apartment and fled. Neither woman was injured, and no one is in custody for the attack early Sunday, police said.
Though a motive for the slaying is unclear, the two suspects apparently knew the man they allegedly killed, police said.
Police couldn't immediately say what may have been taken from the home, or whether a weapon was used.
