Free medical screenings at Trinity United for 'Kidney Action Day'

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Free screenings for kidney disease will be offered at Trinity United Church of Christ on Saturday.

The American Kidney Fund and Trinity United partnered to bring kidney health education and free screenings to Chicago's South Side. The screenings assess kidney function, cholesterol levels, blood pressure and blood sugar.

"Kidney Action Day" also features free entertainment, fitness demonstrations and healthy cooking demos by celebrity Chef Judson Todd Allen.

Rep. Bobby Rush will also attend the event, to honor the 2012 AKF Calendar Kids Art contest winner.

"Kidney Action Day' will take place from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday.
