CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two men were arrested after one woman was killed and a second sexually assaulted during a road trip from Georgia to the Chicago area.

Cristian De La O Hernandez met Maria Jacqueline Ramon and another woman early April 30 in a dance club in DeKalb, Ga., according to a release from the Lake County Sheriff's office.

Hernandez convinced the women to leave the club and go to a different bar across town, the release said. As Ramon drove her car, Hernandez pulled out a handgun and began firing shots out of the window. He then pointed the gun at Ramon and ordered her to stop the car so he could drive.

He told the second woman to take off her clothing and get in the back seat of the car, the release said. As Hernandez drove he began groping Ramon, and when she resisted he grabbed her hand and fatally shot her in the head.

Hernandez then drove back to where his vehicle was parked and left Ramon's body inside her car and told the second woman to get into his car, the release said.

DeKalb County police discovered Ramon's body about six hours later.

Hernandez then contacted Jose Juarez-Vidales, who had been with him earlier that night, and told Juarez-Vidales he needed help taking some guns to the Chicago area, the release said. He introduced the second woman as "his girl."

Hernandez sexually assaulted the second woman multiple times before leaving DeKalb, Ga., and during the trip to the Chicago area, the release said.

Early May 2, the woman texted her location to a friend who called police, the release said. About 3 a.m. that day, law enforcement officers found Hernandez, Juarez-Vidales and the woman at the American Inn Motel at 39018 Sheridan Rd. in Beach Park.

Police from DeKalb, Ga., flew to Lake County, where they connected Hernandez to Ramon's death.

Hernandez, 22, who is originally from the Zion area, is being held without bond on a murder warrant issued from DeKalb, Ga. He was also written a fugitive from justice ticket from Lake County. He faces a $1 million bond for charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault and kidnapping in Lake County.

Hernandez is being held in the Lake County Jail.

Juarez-Vidales, 41, of Rosewood, Ga., is being held on a murder warrant from Dekalb, Ga., and was also issued a fugitive from justice ticket from Lake County.

Fugitive from justice tickets are issued to people wanted on a warrant outside Illinois.
