CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Testimony resumed Wednesday in the Jennifer Hudson family murder trial in Chicago.
A state police gunshot residue expert took the stand first, to testify on the residue police found on Balfour's steering wheel and clothing.
The expert is the only witness so far, as of just before noon Wednesday.
Jurors heard from another witness Tuesday, claiming they heard accused killer William Balfour threaten the family.
Maria Walker testified that four years ago, when she was just 13-years-old, she overheard a conversation between Balfour and his then-wife Julia Hudson. He told Hudson that if she ever called the police, he would kill her and her family.
Balfour is charged with murdering Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.
The prosecution has now presented 57 witnesses over the first 7 days of the trial.
Balfour has pleaded not guilty in the 2008 killings.
Meanwhile the judge has ruled that reporters will no longer be able to use their cell phones to email updates from the courtroom, since phones have been ringing during testimony.
