CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago - Visa has removed one of its service providers following a data breach, which the credit card company reported Friday.

It's believed 1.5 million credit card accounts were compromised.

"Global Payments" - which is one of the companies visa uses for electronic transactions - said it believes the breach happened between late January and late February.

Hackers gained access to names, card numbers and validation codes.

Visa removed "Global Payments" from its list of approved providers this weekend.
