CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
I've learned from sources at "The Voice" that Christina Aguilera is the biggest diva anyone on that show has ever seen -- very demanding, tough to work with, never says "thanks," and while she denied it -- she truly did diss both Justin Bieber and the guys from The Wanted band last week. In fact the members of The Wanted gossiped about how she ignored them on "The Voice" on a New York radio show the other day.
Speaking of music, I've learned that it was while Mary J. Blige was mentoring on "American Idol" recently that the whole idea for the new reality show "Opening Act" came together. It's being produced by "Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe -- and here's the format: Blige, Lythgoe and other members of their producing team will scan the Internet (YouTube, etc.) to find talented unknown singers -- who they will surprise with a chance to be the opening act for one-night-only for such A-List stars as Nicki Minaj, Rod Stewart, Brad Paisley, LMFAO or Jason Mraz.
The show debuts July 7 on E!
More music: Chicago's own Gary Sinise will be back in town later this week to raise money for two of his favorite causes: On Friday night he'll be performing with his Lt. Dan Band rock cover band at Joe's Bar on Weed Street -- to raise funds for the U.S. Veterans Arts Program -- which raises money to buy art supplies for injured Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans to help them with their rehabilitation.
On Saturday, Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band will perform at the annual Steppenwolf gala -- an event that raises money for the theater company which Sinise co-founded.
Finally, in checking with members of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston's families -- they are casting big doubts on the story ex-Michael Jackson bodyguard Matt Fiddes told in an interview with the London Sun. Fiddes claimed that Jackson never got over the two-week fling he had with Houston back before she married Bobby Brown...He also says that Michael went through a phase where he was sympathetic to neo-Nazi activists -- and exhitibted strong anti-Semetic sentiments -- which he later recanted. My Jackson and Houston sources are saying this is all BS.
