Vice President Joe Biden was in Chicago Sunday talking to the nation's largest education union.
The city hosted this year's convention for the association.
Biden was also campaigning for the president in his re-election bid hoping to get the vote of the National Education Association.
“If this nation wants to remain strong and prosperous why would we perpetuate a system that denies these opportunities for each and every child,“ Biden said, “That is the question before this body. That's the fundamental question we ask as a people today.”
About 9000 teachers from around the country attended this year's annual meeting.
The association has 3.2 million members nationwide.
