
Celebrate on your plate! Bring the party to life with a festive dessert that sneaks in fruit and dairy! This version is lightened up so calories are kept in check. Stock up on those berries because in addition to this patriotic dish for your plate, they will freeze nicely, make a great smoothie, top off cereal or yogurt, and are great for out-of-hand snacking. Berries are packed with nutrients and a kid friendly summer favorite, so serve them something they love that’s good for them too!
Featured recipe: Angel Berry Dessert

Bake Time: 30 minutes
Amount: 10 servings
Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) package Angel Food Cake Mix
1 (3.4 ounce) package Jewel® Instant Vanilla Pudding & Pie Filling
2 cups 1% milk
1 teaspoon Jewel® Vanilla Extract
1 (12 ounce) container Jewel® Lite Whipped Topping, softened, divided
3 tablespoons raspberry flavored liqueur
1 package fresh raspberries
1 package fresh blueberries
1 package fresh strawberries, sliced
Directions:
1. Prepare angel food cake according to package directions in loaf pans. Allow to cool completely. Using 1 loaf, slice into 3 horizontal pieces.
2. In medium mixing bowl, combine pudding mix, milk and vanilla. Beat 1 minute at medium speed with electric mixer. Fold in half of the whipped topping. Allow pudding to stand about 5 minutes.
3. Place 1 slice angel food cake on dessert platter. Brush with 1 tablespoon liqueur. Spread with ½ pudding mixture. Top with ½ raspberries, ½ blueberries and ½ strawberries. Place second slice of angel food cake on top of berries. Repeat layer with 1 tablespoon liqueur, remaining pudding and berries, reserving some berries for garnish on top.
4. Place last slice of angel food cake on top of berries, brush with remaining 1 tablespoon liqueur. Spread remaining whipped topping over top and sides of cake. Sprinkle with reserved berries for garnish. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Slice into 10 slices.
Note: Recipe only uses one loaf pan of cake. Refrigerate or freeze second loaf for another use.
