CPS Students, Parents Get Free CTA Rides on First Day of School

Chicago Public School children can get a free ride to school Tuesday on the CTA.

Children and their parents can ride for free on CTA buses and trains from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The freebie is only a one-day deal, and CTA will go back to charging CPS students their regular reduced fares on Wednesday.

Roughly 150,000 students ride the CTA to school each day.
