Local Students in Need to Get NU Scholarships

Northwestern University is the latest private university to work harder on attracting financially-strapped local students.

The Associated Press reports that Northwestern's Good Neighbor, Great University scholarships will be awarded starting in the fall of 2011.

The scholarships will go to 100 incoming freshman from high schools in Evanston and Chicago whose families show financial need.

The school says the majority of those students will receive enough aid to cover their entire annual tuition.
