Chicago building inspectors are trying figure out what caused a porch to collapse on Sunday in Lakeview, sending four people to the hospital.
The porch was attached to a second-story condo on Ashland Avenue, just north of Addison.
Inspectors told the Chicago Tribune that the porch didn't meet current building standards.
One of the victims said there was a housewarming party underway and about eight people were on the deck.
’All of a sudden, just collapse. It just like cracked, you could hear the beams all cracking, it sort of slumped inwards and we all just kind of fell,’ the victim said.
One victim suffered serious injuries in the collapse; the others had only minor injuries.
On Saturday, 12 people were injured in a porch collapse in Tinley Park.
