Thirty-nine year old Fuad Jejna has been on the run for nearly eighteen months now. Investigators say he helped three other men knock over a Wilmette bank in April 2009.
Agents believe Jejna entered the Fifth Third bank on Green Bay Road with 37 year old Mario Besic, a known safe cracker. Once inside, they say Jejna and Besic tied up bank employees with zip ties and took off with $119,000 from the safe. Outside, agents say 32 year old Sefer Hodzic, their getaway driver, was waiting for them in a white Mercedes.
While the group made a clean getaway then, FBI agents arrested both Besic and Hodzic in March of this year. Investigators add a fourth person who was a bank employee, Emir Custovic, helped the trio plan this robbery. They also say Custovic is cooperating.
Investigators say Jejna was living in Lincoln, Nebraska when he decided to travel to Willmette for this heist. While agents say Jejna may still be hiding in the Chicago area, they also say he could be overseas. Jejna is Bosian; investigators say he has connections in Bosina, Serbia and Germany.
Here is a detailed description of what agents say Jejna looks like. He is described as a white male, about six feet tall, weighing around 220 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes.
He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him - call police.
