Woodlawn Elementary School Gets Target Gift Card for Attendance in First Week

Posted:

Chicago Public Schools CEO Jean-Claude Brizard had a big surprise for the principal of Woodlawn Community Elementary School Thursday.

The school got a $3,000 gift card to Target for having the highest attendance rate during the first week of school.

This year, CPS launched an aggressive multifaceted back-to-school campaign.

The district said the campaign contributed to the highest first-day attendance in years.
