Fundraiser Honors Roger and Chaz Ebert, Fights Breast Cancer
A major fundraiser in Chicago over the weekend honored Roger Ebert and his wife Chaz.
The event at Union Station Saturday night was a benefit for Swedish Covenant Hospital.
The Eberts received the Spirit of Compassion Award for their work in the community.
Roughly 850 people were there, including a close friend of Roger Ebert's, Bill Nack, who wrote the critically acclaimed movie Secretariat. Ebert gave it four stars. The two know each other from their days at University of Illinois.
The moving event raised $600,000 was raised for breast cancer health and mammograms.
