Annual school report card data came out Monday, and the statewide graduation rate in Illinois fell to 83.8 percent in 2011, according to the Chicago Tribune .
That’s down from 87.8 percent in 2010.
Only 18 high schools, including Chicago's North Side College Preparatory High School, attained a 100 percent graduation rate this year, compared with nearly 100 high schools last year.
Some changes were expected in the 2011 rates because they were calculated using a new federal formula that's said to more accurately track how many ninth graders graduate within four years.
