Dating Dos and Don'ts

Posted:

Back in the 1940's, a young man called a young lady on her telephone and asked her out for a date.

Now with technology, cell phones and emails, some singles say that kind of chivalry is dead and gone and there are no set rules when it comes to dating.

But there are plenty of turn-ons and turn-offs. We asked people who are dating -- and dating experts -- what they wished people would -- and wouldn't do.

Vincent Geraci: Turn-on: Relax. "I just think you're supposed to have some fun and enjoy the conversation and not pay attention to your phones as much. Pay attention to people around you and just enjoy the company of the people you're with."

Milton Brown: Turn-on: Excitement of the unknown. "The uncertainty. You don't know what to expect."

Gina Evans: Turn-off: Too much talking. "Don't talk about the ex. Don't spend so much time talking about yourself. Take some time and listen."

Milton Brown: Turn-off: Too many questions. "The one thing I dread about a first date is getting drilled with questions -- someone feeling like they're interviewing me."

Josh Dotson: Turn-off: Too serious."I can't stand a girl who can't laugh at herself."

Jamie Leavitt: Turn-on: Wittiness. "A personality is key. A person who can't get a joke is not a fan of mine. So as long as you can get a joke -- you're witty, quick and you don't tell long stories -- it's all good."

Regina Leadal: Turn-off: Paying more attention to your phone than me. "If you can't give me some time now, are you gonna me that time later on? I don't think so."

Sheila: Turn-off: The man doesn't pay. "I'm a little old-fashioned on that. Even if you didn't have a good time, did you ask me out?"

We got the anchors to give The Authenticity Game a try on air.
